ROME – The voting body of the Secular Franciscan Order’s General Chapter overwhelmingly approved its revised International Statute on Nov. 12.
At the previous General Chapter in 2021, the Statute of the International Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order was approved ‘ad experimentum’. This means that during the past three years, its practical application was evaluated, with national fraternities providing feedback for modifying the final version, which contains more than 80 sections governing the life and activities of the Order.
The final Statute represents a total of six years of work by the Revision Committee. Its members included former Minister General Encarnita del Pozo Martinez, OFS; current Minister General Tibor Kauser, OFS, and Presidency Councillor Noemi Paola Riccardi, OFS.
